Windsor Framework changes are now live in Co-op Connect

Updated: Mar 11

On Monday 3 March several mandatory fields for articles went live in Co-op Connect, so we can meet our Windsor Framework requirements

These changes are business critical, so going forward you'll need to use these new fields to make sure we can continue to move products legally through the Northern Ireland Retail Movement Scheme (NIRMS), which was introduced by the Windsor Framework.

What does this mean for you?

Creating new articles

When adding a new article in Co-op Connect, you’ll be prompted to complete new mandatory fields:

It's important new articles are submitted within deadlines for Co-op range events, to make there's is time for us to check the NIRMS compliance status:

Range Event Type:

1 star

by week 9

2 star

by week 22

3 star

by week 26

Amending and reviewing existing articles

  • If you're bringing a product back into range, or amending information on an existing product, it's important you check the Windsor attributes are completed so we can carry out our compliance checks (Click here to view descriptions giving clear guidance)

  • It’s important that any product data you add to Co-op Connect is accurate, so our teams have the best information to make compliance checks, to determine if goods can or can’t be ranged in Northern Ireland

  • We've uploaded data we previously collected from you into Co-op Connect. Please review the data we hold for your products. If the data is  incorrect, this could lead to a delay or mean that we're not able to move your products to Northern Ireland. If amendments are required, please make any changes directly in Co-op Connect

Phase 3 ‘Not for EU’ Labelling

  • As agreed in the Windsor Framework, Phase 3 of the Northern Ireland Retail Movement Scheme will commence on Tuesday 1 July 2025. Any Phase 3 products moving from Great Britain to Northern Ireland must be compliantly labelled 'Not for EU'

  • Please review your Phase 3 products and confirm their current label status via the Co-op Connect process. Additionally, ensure you respond promptly to any requests regarding your labelling intentions, whether you have already received them or will receive them in the future.

  • For confirming labelling intentions or any Windsor related queries, please contact windsor.queries@coop.co.uk

  • If our Customs team contacts you with any data requests or queries, please make sure you respond within 48 hours
