Co-op Live arena outdoor seating

Things are really taking shape at the Co-op Live arena, the new concert venue opening in the heart of Manchester in 2023.

The venue will be the UK's biggest indoor arena with a capacity of 23,500. With news of investment from City Football Club (owners of the men's Manchester City Football Club), joint owners Oak View Group (OVG) were able to release an inside-look at the venue for the first time ever.

The inside-look reveals several areas across the site, with an extensive lobby that includes jaw-dropping screens, a bar area and an overlooking gallery area. There's also an inside look at the main arena space and several state-of-the-art bar areas as well as a cosy outdoor seating.

It's accompanied with a video that features an appearance from the singer Harry Styles, another investor in the new arena. He said about the arena:

“I was drawn to this project on every level, from the opportunities it brings, to the contribution it will make to the city, and most importantly, that it will allow even more live music to thrive in Manchester.” Harry Styles, singer

The arena will be one of the UK's most sustainable too, supporting Manchester's 2038 Zero Carbon 2038 emissions. It promises to be a "low carbon and low waste venue", with the ambition of reaching "zero operational waste to landfill".

Why Co-op?

We're proud of our partnerships, which we select carefully based on shared values and aims. The Co-op Live Arena is another example of how we're able to get closer to where our customers are in ways others can't.

“We’re delighted with this partnership and to join together with the Co-op team to build the new world-class arena that Manchester deserves. Our shared vision with Co-op is what makes this partnership so special. Our partnership goes way beyond a normal naming rights agreement. The shared values will help define the ethos of the venue, including bold commitments on sustainability and community. Tim Leiweke, Chief Executive Officer at Oak View Group

We're looking to get closer to suppliers who share our values, especially on issues like sustainability and diversity and inclusion. Join us at the 2021 Co-op IGD Trade Briefing to learn more.
