Worthy Farm – home of the iconic Glastonbury Festival and award-winning dairy farm -- launches their Reserve Cheddar exclusively in Co-op stores nationwide today.
The Worthy Farm Reserve Cheddar is made from the milk of herd who call the Glastonbury Festival site their home all year round and retails in our stores at £3.00/320g.
The cheddar comes from two neighbouring farms, Worthy Farm and Wyke Farms. One produces top quality milk, while the other is famous for craftsmanship in sustainable farmhouse cheese making.
We've partnered up with Glastonbury Festival since 2019, when we opened our Co-op pop-up shop the festival. That relationship makes Co-op the perfect candidate to launch the Worthy Farm Reserve Cheddar exclusively in our stores nationwide.
Customers and members will get the chance to win tickets to the next Glastonbury Festival, which we'll highlight in-store through an on-pack sticker promotion.
Michael Eavis, the Glastonbury Festival Creator, said: “About 100 years ago, my grandfather decided to make the milk at Worthy Farm into Caerphilly cheese. Now, after 50 years of our recent festival history, our farm milk is being made into cheese once again by Wyke Farms and will be sold exclusively at Co-op stores across the UK.
“We’re thrilled that we can work together as a collective, with Co-op and Wyke Farms, to bring this tasty reserve cheddar to households across the UK.” Worthy Farm Reserve Cheddar is aged under wood for six months, delivering a mature rounded, smooth and moreish flavour with a hint of sweetness, that melts to give a lasting, creamy flavour.
Joanne Wadsworth, Co-op cheese buyer, said: “Co-op is well-known for its support of British farmers and producers, plus our on-going relationship and shared values with the Glastonbury Festival makes our stores the perfect home for Worthy Farm Reserve Cheddar.”
We're committed to partnering with organisations and businesses that share our values and ethics. This partnership is part of our longer-term customer strategy that has seen us open franchise stores in some of Britain's biggest universities, give discounts to students through TOTUM and will even see us open up the Co-op Live Arena in 2023.
